Sorry Sorry So Much to Say

So I’ve been gone. Again. Whoops. I could make plenty of excuses about how school started and how busy I’ve been, but I’ll spare you.
The truth is, I forgot.
Yup. I thought about the blog every so often, but I would forget to post. I haven’t even been that busy. Let me go over what I’ve been doing though.

School started August 15. It hasn’t been too hard or time consuming so far. But I also play volleyball, and that takes up time. And, I got sick a couple days ago so I’ve been even more tired than usual.
But there was something a little exciting about this year.
First, let me give you some back story.

So, I like most music, except for country. I liek Christian music, and most pop. But when it comes to secular music, there are a few bands in particular that I’ve been preferring lately. Fall Out Boy, Twenty One Pilots, Panic! at the Disco, and some My Chemical Romance.
Anyway, there are a couple new students in my class. And guess what music some like. Yup, the same as me! That was pretty exciting.
As for the rest of my life, it’s been pretty much the same. I’m at the same school, so that isn’t much different. I’ve just had to adjust my schedule from summer.

I hope to write some school-related posts soon! And fall, which may be my favorite season, is coming too! If it’s anything like last year, I’ll have a good amount of things to post for fall.
See you soon!

Hey guys! Wassup? Happy fourth of July!! May today be a great start to your week.
Before we get started, make sure to like this post, and follow my blog so you get an email straight to your inbox whenever I publish a new post!
One thing that I have been doing frequently this summer is playing my ukulele, which is pictured above. You ban buy it here. It is made by Luna. Luna has a ton of cool uke’s and guitars all with great quality. I highly recommend any of their products. I know a couple other people with Lunas who love then as well. But if you are just starting, get a beginner (cheap) one to try it out first. Then once you get a grip on how you feel, go for a more expensive one.

Anyway, today I’m going to be talking about all things ukulele. I really love this instrument and it is one of the things in most passionate about.

First if all, let me cover the basics. The ukulele has four strings. It comes in four different sizes. Smallest to largest: soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone. They all have the same tuning except for baritone. Mine is a concert and I think it’s the perfect size with perfect sound.

I don’t want to really go into depth with chords and teaching and stuff. But I know some websites with awesome teaching. Go to for step-by-step videos on how to play songs. If you learn better by reading like me, websites like are great. has an awesome poster with chord charts for every single chord possible. Over 100. And if you get a ukulele starter pack, it will come with instructions.

The ukulele was a very fun and easy instrument to learn. I never took lessons, and I am “fluent” at it now. I don’t believe lessons are necessary. You can pick up chords as you learn songs. And it’s more fun when you can go at your own pace.

In fact, when I was first starting, i made my own booklet with an index card binder. I made flashcards. I put the name of the chord on one side and the diagram on the other. This really helped me a lot. I put all of the main chords used in most songs.

As far as what songs to learn, it really doesn’t matter. You can play pretty much any song on the ukulele. I mean, heavy metal would be weird, but that’s about it. If you want to try a song, go for it!

Now, I wouldn’t recommend learning ukulele if your aren’t big on singing. You have to be VERY good to be able to get away with playing songs and not singing along. Song people can fingerpick the melody, but that takes a lot of practice. It’s hard. But you can always have someone else sing.

I feel like I’ve covered a good amount of beginner ukulele material for those of you maybe thinking about picking one up.

Now I want to talk about the influence the uke has had in my life.

The ukulele was a very impulsive instrument for me. I saw someone playing one and decided I wanted to as well. So within the week, I got a $40 ukulele starter kit from Guitar Center. Then I worked on chords all the time. My incentive to memorize chords and learn them was a new uke. Once I knew the instrument well enough, I ordered my luna. Maybe six months later. Like I mentioned before, I took zero lessons and I am now pretty good. I’m so glad I took that jump and bought a uke.

I know if you do, you’ll love yours too.

Music Asks Part Two

Hello everyone! I hope you had a fantastic weekend. Today I’m going to be finishing the music asks from last week.

16. One of your favorite classical songs.
Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by Bach.

17. A song you would sing a duet with on karaoke.
For old time’s sake, The Start of Something New from High School Musical.

18. A song from the year you were born.
Seriously? I have no clue!! Time for some Google… Well apparently the #1 hit was Hanging by a Moment by Lifehouse, so we’ll go with that.

19. A song that makes you think about life.
How about… Oo Blah Dee by The Beatles. It’s one of my favorite Beatles songs.

20. A song that has many meanings to you.
Well, I really can’t think of anything, but the first song that came to mind was More Than Words.

21. A favorite song with someone’s name in the title.
Okay, I know it’s not a great song, but Miss Jackson by Panic! at the Disco. Again, the first song that came to mind.

22. A song that moves you forward.
    See the Light by LoveCollide.

23. A song that you think everyone should listen to.
I feel this way for a lot of songs. One song that I really like is My Songs Know what You Did in the Dark by Fallout Boy. And I think everyone should hear Good Good Father by Chris Tomlin. It’s a great Christian song.

24. A song by a band you wish were still together.
While I don’t particularly wish this band was still together, because I wasn’t a huge fan, I’ll have to say Story of my Life by One Direction.

25. A song by an artist no longer living.
I will Always Love You by Whitney Houston.

26. A song that makes you want to fall in love.
Uh, Can’t Help Falling in Love(by Elvis, Ingrid Michaelson, T∅P, whoever). DUH!

27. A song that breaks your heart.
Not sure who the artist is, but Christmas Shoes.

28. A song by an artist with a voice you love.
I like a lot of voices. I’ll go with Elastic Heart by Sia.

29. A song that you remember from your childhood.
I’m a Believer from Shrek. Once a Shrek song, always a Shrek song.

30. A song that reminds you of yourself.
This one is really hard. I can’t think of ones that make me think of ME. I’m gonna have to say Tee Shirt by Birdy.

What are some songs that you like? Are there any on this list that you agree with? Any you would choose differently? Let me know!

Thank you all for stopping by! See y’all soon! 😘

Music Asks Part 1

Hey guys! Happy Monday! I really wish you all a great day. I know how bad Mondays can be. I know I’ve been gone for a while, but like I keep saying, I’m busy. But summer’s coming, so I hope I can post more once school’s out.

Anyway, today I decided to do some “music asks.” I saw these on my friends Tumblr and they looked super fun! I’ll be doing 15 at a time so that I have enough time. Let’s dive in!

1. A song you like with a color in the title.
Augh! I have no idea! How about, Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65.

2. A song you like with a number in the title.
    1, 2, 3, 4 by Plain White Ts.

3. A song that reminds you of summertime.
Summertime Sadness, I guess. I don’t really know.

4. A song that reminds you of someone you would rather forget about.
This one’s a little easier. Chandelier by Sia.

5. A song that needs to be played LOUD.
My Songs Know what You Did in the Dark (Light ‘Em Up) by Fallout Boy! Awesome song!!

6. A song that makes you want to dance.
Basically anything by Fallout Boy, Imagine Dragons, or Lorde. There’s also Uptown Funk, and Feel it by Toby Mac.

7. A song to drive to.
Well, I don’t drive. But we usually listen to the local Christian radio station on the way to school. So I’ll say The River by Jordan Feliz.

8. A song about drugs or alcohol.
Well, um… How about… IF YOU LIKE PINA COLADAS!!

9. A song that makes you happy.
    Pompeii by Bastille.

10. A song that makes you sad.
… The Last Goodbye by Billy Boyd.

11. A song you never get tired of.
    Demons by Imagine Dragos.

12. A song from your preteen years.
Well, it wasn’t that long ago. Most of the songs are the same. One I remember singing a lot when I was twelve was Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys.

13. One of your favorite 80’s songs.
    Uh, I don’t really like 80’s music…

14. A song you would love played at your wedding.
Photograph by Ed Sheeran, hands down.

15. A song that is a cover by another artist.
Well, The A Team by Ed Sheeran has been covered a bunch of times. By Madison Bailey, Jasmine Thomson, et cetera. I’m not sure who it’s really by anymore.

Thanks for reading! I’ll (try to) be back soon!

Spring Break Recap

Hello all! I’m going back to school today after being on spring break last week. I thought I’d give y’all a little overview of what I did over the break.

I stayed home on Monday. I cleaned a little around the house and worked on the novel I am currently re-writing, Poor Girl, Rich Talent. It’s really more of a novella. And I watched the second and third X-Men movies. We worked through those that week. I also changed my Background and Header Image for Spring.

On Tuesday, my family drove to St. Augustine. We spent the day strolling through the historic town. And we went to the beach. We stayed overnight and visited some more the next day.

On Wednesday, we went to a state park by St. Augustine. In the middle of the day, we went home. Then I went to youth group and helped prepare for the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday.

Thursday was a lot like Monday. We did a little bit of shopping. But not a lot happened.

I found my Easter dress on Friday. After that, I went with my Mom, Dad, and Sister to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. You all really should see it. I thought it was really good. I won’t spoil anything. But really, go see it if you haven’t already.

The weekends were like any other normal weekend.

That was my spring break. How was yours? Did you have it yet? Do you get one at all? I love hearing from you!

And I’ll see you all… IN MY NEXT VIDEOOOOO!!

Um, I mean post. Bye!

Ah, Monday

Hey everyone! Daylight savings is here again! Am I the only tired one here?

Today I wanted to share something from my devotions. It really hit home for me, because I forget things ALL THE TIME. It’s especially easy to do so on a day like this, when we’re an hour behind.

Have a great Monday!

So… Yeah.

I’m such a moron. I posted two days in a row yet neglected to answer my challenge questions. So now I have four to answer. Then I have a little late Christmas present for y’all.

25 – favorite book I read in school. So far, I have to say Where the Red Fern Grows. I know it’s sad but it was a good book.
26 – book that changed my opinion about something. I don’t really know. Books by Bryan Davis have strengthened my faith, but I can’t think of anything that changed my opinion about something.
27 – most surprising plot twist/ending. Um, can anyone say Allegiant?
28 – favorite title. How to Eat Fried Worms. Lol.

So now for your Christmas present. I listed singing as one of my hobbies on the “About Me” page of my blog, but you’ve never actually heard me sing. Well now’s your chance. Listen to my cover of “Run” via Smule: Enjoy. Merry late Christmas! 🎄🎄🎁

Winter Break? Ha, NO!

So, winter break has officially started. But, there’s a catch for me. See, my dad works at the school, and his classroom is being painted. I would stay home, but o have to help and watch my little brother. Oh joy.

So my winter break is being cut a little short. But that happens when you’re a staff kid.

Anyway, today’s question is: Favorite book from my childhood. I’m gonna say Narnia. All seven chronicles. Yup. Those were my childhood.

And in case you’re wondering about the site decorations, allow me to explain. I felt that I needed some sort of Christmas lights, as I only had trees and snow before. And the new snow I have is sparkly, so it looks a little better.

Happy Winter!

Most Underrated Book

Day seven… And it’s Monday. I don’t like Mondays. But what is an underrated book?

I’ve read good books that aren’t well known, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re underrated. I can’t think of anything.

But I recently read the Anomaly Trilogy by Krista McGee. It didn’t seem like many people knew about it. And, I was hesitant to read it because it seemed like it would be  a rip off between Divergent, The Giver, and Legend. But, I ended up loving it. I read the entire series in three days.

What books do you think are underrated?

Christmas, Christmas Time is Here!

This was supposed to post yesterday, but it didn’t work, so…
Pretend it’s December first while reading this.

Okay, I know it’s not winter yet, but I always put up winter/Christmas decorations the weekend after Thanksgiving. If I waited until winter, it would only be four days before Christmas!

So enjoy winter while it lasts. But it doesn’t feel like winter down here in Florida. The weather is still in the eighties. Oh well. It could be worse, right?

Oh, and during the month of December, I would like to accomplish a few things. First, even though there are thirty one days in December, I will be doing a thirty day challenge based on books. You guys can get to know me a little better. Second, I would like to reach thirty followers be the end of the month. I have twenty four right now, so six more and I will get to thirty. It isn’t that many, but I would like to end the year even.

So, on to the first day of the challenge.

Day one: the best book I’ve read this year.

Wow, that’s hard. I read a lot of books this year. I really liked Son, and Storm Siren, and Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus, and probably a bunch more. I can’t choose a specific Percy book, or from other series, so I’ll just say Son. Great job, Lois Lowry!

Thanks for stopping by!
